Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to be awarded a score of 10 at the Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi is the Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became the coach for Comaneci who first came across Comaneci aged six. She participated in the Romanian Junior Games where she placed 13th. She won in 1970. Three gold medals were awarded in her debut competition in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972 for communist countries. In 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. The athlete won four golds and one silver medals at her first international competition for seniors, held in 1975. This was her first time she competed as a senior. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on 6th September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the entertainment industry in her teens. When she was a child, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
